Champurrado is a chocolate-y version of an atole, a warm masa-based beverage enjoyed in various regions across Mexico. Its name is derived from the word champurrar, meaning "to mix," because this drink is traditionally frothed vigorously with a wooden mixing tool called a molinillo. While champurrado is typically prepared fresh for breakfast, we’ve given it the packaged treatment for the moments when you need a quick, cozy fix.
