
Get to Know Red Cónico
Masienda’s partner grower, Armando, maintains a five-hectare milpa that has been in his family for five generations (which is as far back as he can personally trace). We’re thrilled to use Armando’s red cónico for our prized Heirloom Red Corn Masa Harina (and FYI, it’s more of a warm pink). The texture and flavor of this varietal are outstanding, creating a tortilla that’s sabrosisísima, according to Armando.
