Ceramic Pour Over Coffee Dripper by La Chicharra

We designed our Ceramic Pour Over Coffee Dripper with every coffee moment in mind. It’s doubly capable of brewing coffee for one and coffee with company. The brewing cone features ridges along its walls and 4mm holes at its base to strike the perfect balance of control and ease-of-use, no matter how seasoned your pour over skills are. It’s sized to use #2 filters, which are well-proven and widely available. Best of all, it’s handcrafted by La Chicharra, Oaxaca’s revered artisan ceramic studio, as a complete tribute to the hands, lands and heritage of Mexican coffee history.

A One-of-a-Kind Collab

When Jorge approached Maria Fernanda and Lalo of La Chicharra about making a pour over dripper customized to Masienda’s specifications, they jumped at the chance. They’re interested in exploring different shapes and uses for ceramics: their approach blends the traditional art of Mexican barro with modern design and scientific techniques. It was a project dear to Maria Fernanda’s heart—her parents are coffee farmers in Oaxaca, and she’s always had a love for the stuff. They began making molds, tinkering with the design until it could pass the ‘diner mug test,’ or universally accommodate almost any mug shape. Although it should fit any mug in your home, pairing the Pour Over Coffee Dripper with La Chicharra’s Ceramic Mug is a strikingly sleek, beautiful combination.
